The FoE national conference is taking place between 9-11th September 2011. If anyone is intending to go, please let me know.
Friends of the Earth’s 40th Anniversary Conference. Conference is always a highlight of the activist calendar and we hope that you will be able to be part of it this year.
The event will include:
– A rare gathering of the last four Directors of Friends of the Earth –
Jonathon Porritt, Tony Juniper, Tom Burke and Charles Secrett – giving their take on
our first 40 years, and where they see us going
– Nnimmo Bassey, Nigerian environmentalist activist and poet, chair of
Friends of the Earth International, one of Time Magazine’s ‘Heroes of the
Environment’ in 2009 and a winner of the Right Livelihood Award – referred to as the
‘Alternative Nobel Prize’
– Kate Pickett, Author of “The Spirit Level” – speaking on why equal
societies are better for everyone
– A first look of our major new campaign on energy and a chance to find out
about what’s coming up on campaigns on biodiversity, resources and more
– A great range of workshops on the key skills and issues you need to be a
great campaigner
– The premiere of a specially commissioned photo exhibition
– The Earthmovers award ceremony for environmental activism
– Our 40th anniversary party
– Fringe events, stalls and hopefully a few surprises
