Friends of the Earth’s 40th Anniversary Conference. Conference is always a highlight of the activist calendar and we hope that you will be able to be part of it this year.<\/p>\n

The event will include:<\/p>\n

–\u00a0 A rare gathering of the last four Directors of Friends of the Earth –
\nJonathon Porritt, Tony Juniper, Tom Burke and Charles Secrett – giving their take on
\nour first 40 years, and where they see us going<\/p>\n

–\u00a0 Nnimmo Bassey, Nigerian environmentalist activist and poet, chair of
\nFriends of the Earth International,\u00a0 one of Time Magazine’s ‘Heroes of the
\nEnvironment’ in 2009 and a winner of the Right Livelihood Award – referred to as the
\n‘Alternative Nobel Prize’<\/p>\n

– Kate Pickett, Author of “The Spirit Level” – speaking on why equal
\nsocieties are better for everyone<\/p>\n

– A first look of our major new campaign on energy and a chance to find out
\nabout what’s coming up on campaigns on biodiversity, resources and more<\/p>\n

–\u00a0 A great range of workshops on the key skills and issues you need to be a
\ngreat campaigner<\/p>\n

–\u00a0 The premiere of a specially commissioned photo exhibition<\/p>\n

–\u00a0 The Earthmovers award ceremony for environmental activism<\/p>\n

–\u00a0 Our 40th anniversary party<\/p>\n

–\u00a0 Fringe events, stalls and hopefully a few surprises<\/p>\n

Day tickets are just \u00a325 and weekend tickets cost \u00a330. Accommodation on site is
\navailable from \u00a363.60 for two nights. Both tickets include free meals and
\nrefreshments. The event takes place from 9-11 September in Nottingham.<\/p>\n
